Chris,
I focus on the Educational and Psychological components of Learning and acting on Learned information. As a therapist I address the motivational, esteem, and perspective barriers that prevent us from prospering or acting on the information we learn.
As an Educator I focus on the optimal methods of teaching information so that it is not simply memorized or skimmed over but instead the information is absorbed and synthesized into the person's way of thinking and behavior. This enables them to act on the information, apply it correctly and then transfer it into other areas allowing critical thinking and growth in areas that may or may not be related to he original source of the learned information.
I am an on-line instructor and I create course material of various types. So, while I look at the various types of information being disseminated to our youth, I also consider the question: Do they truly understand why the information is REALLY saying o them and do they have the tools to use the information to enhance their lives.

- My father (Norman Macrae with whom I co-authored the first future of the net generation in 1984) and I created Entrepreneurial Revolution in The Economist back in 1972 as a way of debating how to help youth of the net generation enjoy the most productive and collaborative of times. Dad left us in 2010 but our family still helps host this leadership and youth debate wherever we can. Of 7 systems that Entrepreneurial Revolution networks over 4 decades have mapped as critical to progressing the human lot, open education looks like the most critical in 2010s. Welcome linking in with anyone who agrees, and who urgently wants to help worldwide youth with job creation. While I live in Washington DC, the 7 countries that my father and I have enjoyed celebrating the most pro-youth innovation in education with are Japan, Bangladesh, South Africa, New Zealand, Scotland, Kenya and hopefully China.
In 2013, The Year of the MOOC and the 170th anniversary of The Economist being founded to end capital abuse of youth, the USA has the greatest opportunity of all to change from job destructive education, but will it?
